KAMPALA – The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has moved to suspend the popular television show “Omusunsuzi” co-hosted by controversial media personality Nakangubi Jennifer, widely known as Full Figure, following numerous public complaints about her on-air conduct.
The daily two-hour show, which aired on Salt TV from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, was co-hosted by former Radio Simba personality Charles James Ssenkubuge. In a directive to the broadcaster, the UCC stated that the suspension was due to a consistent breach of minimum broadcasting standards, citing “many complaints alleging that her abusive conduct while on air” was a central issue.
The regulator’s action, however, has been met with fierce defiance from the outspoken adviser and social media influencer. In a fiery response delivered via her TikTok account earlier today, Full Figure vowed to remain outspoken and circumvent the traditional media ban.
She declared her intention to continue influencing public opinion through direct engagement on TikTok and other online platforms, under the apparent belief that the regulator’s jurisdiction does not extend to such digital spaces.
“What the regulator needs to understand is the fact that I am the content myself which viewers are attracted to and not merely Salt TV,” Full Figure asserted, challenging the UCC’s authority and emphasizing her personal brand’s power.
The suspension of “Omusunsuzi” highlights the ongoing tension between Uganda’s communications regulator and provocative media personalities who push the boundaries of acceptable content. Full Figure’s threat to migrate her show online sets up a potential new front in this clash, testing the limits of UCC’s regulatory reach in the digital age.
As of now, Salt TV has complied with the UCC directive, and the future of the “Omusunsuzi” show on the platform remains uncertain.
