
Ugandans Gather in Thanksgiving for First Lady Janet Museveni’s Recovery

A large interfaith service at the Office of the National Chairman headquarters in Kyambogo on Monday honored First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni’s recovery from a health crisis that began on March 21, 2026.
President Yoweri Museveni attributed her recovery to both divine intervention and medical care, as Ugandans from various walks of life came together to express gratitude.

The thanksgiving prayers were organized by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, drawing a diverse crowd that included religious leaders, Members of Parliament, women representatives, and Bazzukulu supporters. The event highlighted the First Lady’s lifelong service to the nation, from Uganda’s liberation struggle to the present day.
Messages of Gratitude
Pastor Aloysius Bujingo addressed the gathering by dismissing critics who had been spreading fake news about the First Lady’s condition. The Chief Muzzukulu led prayers not only for the First Lady’s continued health but also for the nation’s growing poverty, blending personal gratitude with calls for national healing.
