
KAMPALA, Uganda – The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has announced an impressive 91% success rate from its May/June 2025 assessments, with female candidates significantly leading the pass rates.
According to the results released by the board, 24,116 out of 26,610 candidates were certified as having achieved full competences. The assessments were conducted across 499 centers nationwide.
A standout finding from the data is the exceptional performance of women, who made up 57% of all registered candidates. They recorded a 92% success rate, outperforming their male counterparts, who achieved an 89% rate.
The results also revealed a notable disparity between informal and formal training providers. Candidates from informal training institutions achieved a remarkable 96% completion rate, compared to 81% from formal institutions.
The official release of the results was presided over by officials including Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo, who represented the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni. During the ceremony, officials emphasized the government’s ongoing reforms under the new 2025 TVET Act. These reforms are designed to better align the skills of graduates with the nation’s industrialization goals and to advance gender equity in technical and vocational education.
