Five African Migrants Arrested in Rome for Alleged Abduction and Gang Rape of Colombian Tourist
ROME – Italian authorities have arrested five African migrants accused of abducting and gang-raping a 32-year-old Colombian tourist over three days in an abandoned building on the eastern outskirts of the capital.
According to police reports, the victim was allegedly lured by a man who offered to sell her hashish. Instead, she was forced into a van and taken to a derelict structure, where she was held captive, drugged, threatened, and sexually assaulted multiple times.
The woman managed to escape half-naked and was found by an Italian citizen, who took her to Casilino Hospital. Medical examinations revealed signs of physical violence and traces of suspected narcotics, consistent with her claims of being drugged.
Following her testimony, police raided the abandoned building and arrested five suspects: two Gambians, two Nigerians, and one Malian. All have been charged with gang rape, with the aggravating circumstance of taking advantage of the victim’s defenseless state.
Investigators continue to examine the case, and the victim is receiving medical and psychological support.
