President Museveni Hosts International Delegations at State House Entebbe Following Swearing-In Ceremony
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has continued to strengthen Uganda’s diplomatic and international relations through a series of high-level meetings with foreign dignitaries and international leaders at State House Entebbe following his swearing-in ceremony for the 2026–2031 term.
During a meeting with Gen. Dr. HC Archon Bartolomeu Savoiu and a delegation from Romania, President Museveni emphasized the importance of leadership grounded in faith, unity, and national values.

He noted that Uganda promotes unity in Christ and the teachings of Jesus centered on love for one another, while rejecting sectarianism based on denomination or religion.
The President highlighted Uganda’s peaceful coexistence among different religious communities, including Orthodox Christians, Anglicans, Pentecostals, Catholics, and Muslims.
He reflected on historical divisions introduced during the colonial era between Catholics and Protestants, noting that Uganda has since worked hard to overcome such divisions and maintain national unity and tolerance.
At the same venue, President Museveni also hosted Atul Khare and his delegation from the United Nations. Their discussions focused on Uganda’s continued cooperation with the UN in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development.

In another diplomatic engagement, the President met Ata Serdarov, who represented Serdar Berdimuhamedow at the inauguration ceremony.
Museveni thanked the Turkmenistan delegation for their solidarity and reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in diplomacy and parliamentary relations.

President Museveni further received Losang Jamcan, who represented Xi Jinping at the ceremony. The President praised the longstanding friendship between Uganda and China, noting that China’s zero-tariff access for Ugandan products will greatly enhance trade and investment opportunities.
The two leaders also discussed global peace and the importance of dialogue in resolving international conflicts. Museveni described the Uganda-China relationship as one built on nearly 70 years of mutual respect and cooperation.
Meanwhile, President Museveni announced key judicial appointments, naming Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi as the new Deputy Chief Justice and Agnes Alum as the new Chief Registrar.
The appointment of Justice Kawumi has been forwarded to Parliament for approval.
The President also hosted Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua and George Akume, who paid courtesy calls after attending the inauguration ceremony. The delegations later departed for their respective countries.
In a separate meeting, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez paid a courtesy visit to President Museveni before returning home. Discussions centered on strengthening diplomatic and bilateral cooperation between Uganda and Venezuela, with both leaders agreeing to explore collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
President Museveni later held talks with Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on Africa’s industrial transformation and value addition. The Ugandan leader emphasized the need for African nations to process their raw materials locally instead of exporting them in unprocessed form.
He shared Uganda’s progress in agriculture, manufacturing, oil refinery development, ICT, and industrialisation, while welcoming Gabon’s interest in cooperation in agriculture, military training, and private sector development.
The President also welcomed Daniel Francisco Chapo on his first official visit to Uganda.
Museveni appreciated the historical relationship between Uganda and Mozambique, particularly Mozambique’s support to FRONASA fighters during Uganda’s liberation struggle. Their discussions focused on regional security and continued bilateral cooperation.
In another key engagement, President Museveni met Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss strengthening Uganda-Egypt relations in trade, industrialisation, renewable energy, fish farming, and water resource management. Museveni stressed the importance of large-scale fish farming in protecting wetlands, creating jobs, and helping communities transition from subsistence agriculture to commercial production.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional peace and stability, emphasizing dialogue and African-led solutions to conflicts across the continent.
The series of meetings at State House Entebbe underscored Uganda’s growing diplomatic engagement and President Museveni’s focus on unity, economic transformation, regional cooperation, and international partnerships as he begins his new term in office under the theme
#KisanjaNoMoreSleep.
