
All Six Stolen Laptops Recovered as Four Suspects Face Court Over Bank of Uganda Theft
KAMPALA, Uganda – Police have confirmed the recovery of all six laptop computers stolen from the Bank of Uganda (BOU) earlier this month, following the arrest of two additional suspects.
The theft occurred on the night of 3rd May 2026 at the central bank’s offices along Kampala Road in Kampala. Initially, two suspects were arrested, and two laptops were recovered. Police spokesperson details indicate that rigorous follow-up investigations led to the apprehension of two more individuals, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to four.
With the latest arrests, law enforcement recovered the remaining four stolen laptops. All six computers are now being held as exhibits for court proceedings.
The suspects have been identified as:
· Kule Boaz Micheal
· Kabuya Ramathan (alias Rama)
· Lubangakene Isaac Izoo
· Oedo Jorem Jude
According to police, the four are expected to be arraigned today, 20th May 2026, before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court. This follows the completion of necessary legal processes.
They face multiple charges, including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property.
